TSUKASA SUZUKI
鈴木掌（Tsukasa SUZUKI）／ Master IZOOBA
画家、アートプロデューサー。1986年茨城県出身。即身仏の家系に生まれる。2011年より5年間、ルワンダでシングルマザーを中心とした200人以上の若者に洋裁を指導。2016年より画家として活動を開始し、蛍光色を駆使した生命力あふれる作品で注目を集める。2019年、「アートで世界を対等につなぐ」をコンセプトに「heARTプロジェクト」を始動。ルワンダと日本を拠点に活動。
《 heART（ヒーアート）〜 HEARTの中にARTがある 〜 》
このプロジェクトは、ルワンダの子どもたちに絵を教え、作品を買い取り、販売する活動。しかし、その本質は慈善ではない。慈善は、与える側と受け取る側を固定する。heARTはその構造そのものを問い直す。
ある少年は9人兄弟の末っ子で、学校にも行けず、物乞いをして暮らすことを余儀なくされていた。その少年の絵を1点買い上げることで、少年とその家族が約1ヶ月暮らせる資金になる。子どもたちの作品には、強い光がある。生きるチカラ。与えられた状況を自ら脱するための魂が宿っている。あどけない表情からは想像できない、命の作品たちだ。
Vision
ルワンダに美術館を建てる。
30年以内にアフリカ大陸の主要産業を「アート」に塗り替える。
そして、日本人の価値をアートを通して世界に示していく。
これが、鈴木掌／Master IZOOBAの挑戦である。
Tsukasa Suzuki / Master IZOOBA
Painter, art producer. Born in Ibaraki Prefecture in 1986. Born into a family of mummified monks. For five years from 2011, he taught dressmaking to over 200 young people, mainly single mothers, in Rwanda. He began working as a painter in 2016, attracting attention with his vibrant works that make extensive use of fluorescent colors. In 2019, he launched the "heART Project" with the concept of "connecting the world on equal footing through art." He is based in Rwanda and Japan.
heART - ART exists within HEART -
This project involves teaching painting to children in Rwanda, buying their artwork, and selling it. However, its essence is not charity. Charity fixates the roles of giver and receiver. heART questions that structure itself.
One boy was the youngest of nine siblings, unable to attend school, and forced to live by begging. By purchasing one of the boy's paintings, the funds will be enough to support the boy and his family for about a month. There is a strong light in the children's artwork. The power to live. It embodies the spirit to overcome their given circumstances. These are works of life, unimaginable from their innocent expressions.
Vision
To build an art museum in Rwanda.
To transform the African continent's major industry into "art" within 30 years.
And to demonstrate Japanese values to the world through art.
This is the challenge of Sho Suzuki/Master IZOOBA.
